Verified Buyer | Spruce Grove, AlbertaPurchased resort/ cruise certificate which was cancelled twice but RCI
Purchased certificate in 2019 and booked cruise for 2020. That was cancelled by RCI travel due to pandemic.
Rebooked for cruise in June 2022. This was cancelled by RCI travel due to war in Russia part of our cruise was to Russia. All good reasons except when I went to rebook another cruise was blocked from my account and when I called RCI was told that my cruise certificate had expired. I asked for an extension and was told they put a request in for same.
We are now 4 months past, have called numerous times and each time been told to call in again next week and they would check for us again. You never get the same agent and each time I call I am constantly being put on hold as they are dealing with several clients at the same time and most often it is impossible to hear the agent for the constant noise of other agents talking on the background.
This is a very unprofessional and unethical organization that considers it okay to take $4000.00 US and not feel obliged to give anything in return. We have travelled at least 4 other times with this Company but as previously stated there are always up charges and fine print issues.
User's recommendation: Never buy an RCI travel certificate. Deal is all onesided

We purchased a cruise resort certificate 2 years ago. Was booked on a cruise of our lifetime, may1, 2022.
Had to cancel 3 days before sailing due to positive covid test. Princess has been great the money found that certificate which was 1,529.05 ! Still fighting for 2 1/2 months later! Have to go through the insurance we bought just to get the certificate reinstated!
Then rebook with them, ughhh .I HATE this company! Have a resort booked in October but now trying to find out how much this is going to cost us once we are there!
I dont want anything to do with them and I do want to join a class action lawsuit! So angry!

Verified Reviewer | Fort Lauderdale, FloridaRip off
Made reservations in 2019 for a 2020 cruise that was cancelled due to Covid. We then rescheduled a Celebrity cruise to Western Caribbean.
We received a postcard from Celebrity offering FREE drink package, wi-do and gratuities. However, when we boarded we received nothing. After have guest services investigate, we were told that eco took all of the discounts for themselves.
I feel that we were ripped off by RCI Travel and I will spread the word that they are Terrible to deal with. STAY AWAY!!!!

Rubbish
APlease do not get involved with this company. They promise lots but actually deliver nothing.
The sales people are very convincing , time share sales trained. Pressure sales, even over the phone. I Siena £1999 on a package and got nothing in return. The offering of cruises for life at cost, returned out to be 2 years .
The prices where more than those quoted on the cruise companies web site.
The savings were non existent. Please do your self a favour and dont waste your money

RCI Cruise and Resort Vacations
RCI granted an extension for our cruise deadline, for which I am truly grateful! Payments were made for this cruise well over two years.
I became very upset upon being told deadline to book was missed and cruise was simply lost. It was difficult for me to accept that missing a deadline by 72 hours, especially after a year of Covid and riots, that RCI would not work with me.
My husband and I have been RCI members over 35 years. We are very happy that RCI allowed us to book cruise.
User's recommendation: Pay close attention to deadlines!!
Complaint on cruise purchase
Almost $3k was paid for a cruise, which I've been advised that since the booking deadline was missed by 3 days, is now lost and nothing can be done about it, even with the circumstances of COVID 19.
We have been RCI members for over 35 years, however, after this experience we will sever all ties with RCI.
- Unreasonable about deadline due to covid-19
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Do NOT use RCI Cruise and Resort Vacations

Verified ReviewerThis company should not be allowed to trade
Purchased a golden benefits cruise and resort package. This allowed you to purchase cruises at cost for life apparently with a cost of £49 per year to renew.
Now they state they no longer sell the package and cannot renew on a year on year basis. I can honestly say this company will say and confirm anything to sell without any intention of delivering. This package cost £1999 and I received absolutely nothing in return. Please don't be fooled like me.
It's a scam. This company should be wound up, if it hasn't already

Verified ReviewerDelaying refund for cancellation 115 days out
Booked a resort stay for roughly one year out; purchased cancellation package at same time. Cancelled trip more than 60 days out due to Covid-19.
Assured refund coming within 60-90 days. Now were at day 115 with no refund still. Ive called FIVE times, assured each time it will be coming by days end, we properly followed the steps for the refund. I am now filing a dispute with my credit card company for the refund as well as filing complaints with every consumer forum I can find and the FTC.
RCI Travel is a terrible company to deal with! Avoid them and NEVER, NEVER EVER use them for any vacations.

Verified ReviewerBeware of booking a cruise through RIC travel
I booked a cruise through RCI Travel with the understanding I could cancel within 24 hours if our schedule did not work with dates of cruise. I called back to the same number I originally called to book cruise the next day.
I reached a voice mail box and left a clear message cancelling the cruise. Imagine my surprise when six months later I was charged $500 by the booking agent and over $4000 for the cruise I cancelled. RCI refused to acknowledge the call cancelling the reservation. I have proof of call though my cell phone statement.
I also have detailed notes of the many weeks I have tried to problem solve this injustice. The excuse I was given was the cancellation needed to be in writing or I had to do more than leave a phone message. At no time was I told this was the requirement during the call or in print.
(How can you cancel in writing within 24 hours if it starts when the written cancellation is received?) I am still hoping for some sort of resolution. If anyone has any suggestions of how to proceed or who to contact I would be so grateful.
- Use of points to decrease price
- Not cancelling cruise as requested within 24 hours
Preferred solution: Full refund

Don't waste your time. They pressure sale and take advantage of you especially the elderly.
My husband and | were on a weekend trip. My husband had been in a car accident and had very serious injuries.
We told the sale person we were not interested but they would not take no for an answer. We have told them that we are older.and not physica!ly able to take trips.
Rci has not been willing to give us a refund or cancel the transaction. They call us constantly.

Verified Reviewer | Daytona Beach, FloridaCancelled my trip!!!!
I bought a certificate to travel to Costa Rica from RCI and booked through the 800 number and then booked my airfare ($1050). Kept calling them to get the hotel room confirmation and paid the "resort fee" that was asked $198.00.
Called back many times and they said they would let me know. Called a couple of days ago and they said I owed $120.00 more for the resort fees. WHAT!!!!! They were checking on this and when I called today the resort cancelled my trip for non-payment of resort fees that I knew nothing about.
I am getting an attorney!!!
I have airfare tickets that are no longer valid. I am looking to get an attorney and sue them.
We will RIP you off company!
We purchased RCI Travel packages plan several times. The last package went along very smoothly.
This time we go to book or cruise and we were told it had expired. I have contacted numerous sales people and left messages, in which no one has ever returned my call.
I was told that they could track my phone calls, but some were from my work number, some from my cell phone and some from my home. But, its my word against theirs. We were told it was $199 too reactivate it, and after talking to the supervisor, it went up to $599.
Hmmmm!
I just want to make a reservation and be done and over it. DO NOT EVER PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
VERY UNHAPPY WITH VAGUE SALES INFO
The long and short is we purchased the package (2 - 7 day cruises or 1 - 15 day cruise, $1,100 "cash back", and 1 week at a resort anywhere in the world) not being told that basically all we were purchasing for our $4,000 was a discount on the cruise or resort. Trying to talk with their reps only sounds like "double talk." We have booked a cruise for 15 days and to pay for it they gave us a price, which flipped us out, said we could use the $1,100 they were giving us toward it and then we would still owe $841.75.
WHAT! We then checked on a week in Maui. They gave me a name of one of their resorts and we checked to see what it would cost if we rented a week there direct. When all was said and done the cruise and resort stay would cost $600 more than if we had done them both ourselves directly.
Such a rip off. We are going to book a week close to home just to get rid of RCI. We agree with all the negative statements and would strongly suggest if you haven't bought a package DON'T!!!
Did you notice? They actually never used the word FREE cruise or FREE resort.
